Super Summer Software Uploaded AKA Summer Reads Read

As we approach the new school year, I like to reflect and apply as many methods of self improvement towards my work. One of the best resources for continuing my learning as an educator, is through reading and anytime is a great time but for me the SUuMmER TiMe is the BEST time to do it!

There are several great books available such as
"Move Your Bus" by Ron Clark and "Crash Course: The Life Lessons My Students Taught Me" by Kim Bearden are a couple of my top favorites as these two educators are well known for their tremendous hearts in teaching children and influence as amazing teachers.

In addition to those RCA favorites, the following books I also highly recommend: "1-2-3 Magic For Teachers" by Thomas W. Phelan & Sarah Jane Schonour: This book not only helps to guide teachers in their behavior management plan for their classrooms, but it also comes in a "parent" version for families too. There are many great examples and questions answered within the pages which makes it a most helpful tool.

Another amazing author and educator who's bark is right up my alley, is David Burgess with his book "Teach Like A Pirate". When I read his words on student engagement and creativity, I felt as though he was looking into my past through a crystal ball and describing me and my strikingly similar passion for lesson crafting and teaching.

These are just a few wonderfully great "reads" which I thoroughly enjoyed "uploading to my hard drive" (oh yes, reading!)  during my summer break. They have definitely enhanced the way I teach and compliment what I love to do. I'm always looking for juicy new tid-bits to change up my game plan and make learning even more engaging for my kiddos.
