I PoPPed into my local dollar store today & (Yipeeeeee!!!) I found these adorable pine cone ornaments!!! Score!!!
So I PoPPed off the hangers & VIOLA! Instant counters! The base-ten rods immediately came to mind. I whipped up a rod strip to lay the cones on in order to make counting organized & simple. Then, devised the number sentence mat for recording.
I laminated the mats so that they can be dry-erased in a math center for reusing.
